Big Mac Sports Club

 

The BIG MAC SPORTS CLUB is an organization of local and area outdoor sportsmen dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of our local, regional and state fish and wildlife heritage.

The Mission of our club:

To promote and advocate for preservation and enhancement of our fish and wildlife populations and the diversity of their habitats, and ensure that future generations may have the opportunity to develop and appreciation for the waters and wilderness areas which allow all outdoorsmen to truly experience nature. To fulfill this mission the Big Mac Sports Club endorses the following objectives:

To provide a vehicle for area sportsmen to unite and work with local, State and Federal agencies and authorities through collaboration, for purposes of protecting and improving local and state fish and wildlife resources.

To promote all types of outdoor recreational activities with emphasis on while encouraging protection and conservation and long-term sustainability of our natural resources.

Increase general public awareness and understanding of fish, wildlife, water issues; and of state and local governmental stewardship responsibilities so as to stimulate citizen sportsmen�s action and support for maintaining, restoring those resources on behalf of its citizens.

To promote opportunities for the education of the citizens, including youths, with respect to such resources and their lifetime enjoyment and healthy utilization.

In addition the Big Mac Fly fishers, as a chapter of the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF), accept and adopt the purposes listed in the FFF Bylaws as follows:

a. Cultivate and advance the art, science and sport of  fly-fishing as the most sporting and enjoyable method of angling and the way of fishing most consistent with the preservation and use of game fish resources;

b. Be the voice for organized fly fishing;

c. Promote conservation of recreational resources;

d. Facilitate and improve the knowledge of fly fishing;

e. Elevate the standard of integrity, honor, and courtesy of anglers:

f. Cherish the spirit of fellowship among anglers everywhere;

g. Establish and maintain liaison with other organizations of anglers and conservationists and government agencies concerned with the sport of angling; and

h. Keep its members informed of developments of interest to the membership.
