Big Mac Sports Club History

The Big Mac Sports Club was organized in the fall of 1973. The Goal of the club was to give the public a learning tool and to teach hunting, fishing, camping, and other outdoor recreation. An additional objective was to protect our outdoor heritage for future generations.

Over the years the Club has petitioned State, Federal and other agencies for help solve area resource problems. At present the biggest concern is the shortage of water our States public fish and wildlife resources.

The club is governed by a five member board of trustees, president, treasurer and secretary. This group meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at the Nebraska Game and Parks Visitors Center, South Hwy 61, Lake McConaughy.

Within the Club, at present, are five very active groups. These are Trap Shooting, Youth Trap Shooting, Archery, Blackpowder and Fly Fishing. Each has their own user specific projects and activities.
