Big Mac Fly Fishers Member FEDERATION OF FLY FISHERS About the Club
The Big Mac Fly fisher Club was started to instruct and promote the art and pleasure of fly fishing to interested people, and is dedicated to the sport. This dedication comes from the strong support of its knowledgeable membership. Our club is dedicated to providing fly fishing knowledge to our young people. We invite you to visit us either by browsing through our website or by coming to one of our regular monthly meetings. The sport provides lots of activities for the whole family, and fly fishing is another great way to enjoy the great outdoors here in Nebraska and elsewhere. Fly fishing is not only for trout, but for all species, as they can all be taken with fly fishing tackle, where ever there are fish. If you think at all that you might like try it we have many excellent fly fishermen in the club who are more than willing to help you get started. DIRECTIONS TO THE BIG MAC SPORTS CLUB clubhouse. The Big Mac Fly fishers regular monthly meeting is held the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 P.M. at the Big Mac Sports Club clubhouse located across the hiway to the east of Arby's. Follow the road to the left down to the stop sign under the overpass...take a right...follow the road east to the club house/trap range located on the right hand side of the road. The clubhouse sits off the road, so you will need to drive in through the chain link gate if it is open. The regular meeting consists of a short business and information session, followed by instruction and participation by members, and guests, in all aspects of fly fishing.

May 24, 2008 Fly Tying Class- Tying with Foam. Time: 9-3:00p.m. Location Big Mac Sports Club clubhouse. Cost: small material fee. Bring a covered dish for the potluck lunch. Bring your equipment and materials. Call Howard Taylor for more info. 308-284-3212.
June26-27, 2008- Fly Fishing the I-80 Sand pit Lakes. Meet at noon at the Sutherland inlet on Thursday June 26. Plans on where to fish and camp will be made at that time. For more info call Chuck at 289-0193.
June 22, 2008- Kids Fishing contest. Howard's Pond. Meet at 10:00 at trap club building, Ogallala. Lunch is at 11:00. Fishing begins at 12:00 noon and ends at 4:00pm.

NEBRASKAland Magazine Intro to Fly-Fishing by Bob Grier
Jerry Sutton, Big Mac Fly Fisher member/ science and biology instructor for Garden County High School is featured in the Nov. issue of the Nebland Magazine. For the second year in a row, Sutton's class "Freshwater Ecology-From the Fly-Fisherman's Perspective" is attracting the interest of students, parents, volunteer instructors and a host of statewide observers, including fisheries biologists and educators. Other Big Mac members mentioned in the article are Art Engle, Gene Harmon, and Sue Armstrong.
